Spetchells Centre, Prudhoe
This building is a £1.6 million community library which also provides office and meeting spaces. It incorporates micro generation by means of a 10kW roof mounted PV array and heating by means of air source heat pumps providing low temperature hot water to low water content convector radiators. Domestic hot water pre-heating is provided by thermal solar panels. Natural ventilation is provided to the building utilising the central atrium to develop a passive stack effect.
The building achieved an ‘A’ Rating Energy Performance Certificate.
